It's happened to all of us – you've probably experienced it yourself – a supplier that promises the earth and fails to deliver. You end up embarrassed in front of your customers and with costly downtime for your people or equipment. You spend hours on the telephone trying to resolve the issue. Just one example...

We can tell you that we're dependable, but actions speak louder than words. So here's a story about something we did recently to illustrate why we think we're the dependable supplier you always wanted.

One of our customers placed an order with us for delivery the following day - nothing special about that of course. Later the same day the customer called and made a specific request that part of the shipment arrive early, for which they expected to pay an additional delivery charge. We made no extra charge as the entire shipment was scheduled to be onsite by the customer's required time.

The following day, en route to the customer, the delivery vehicle developed a fault (if only everything in life were dependable!) and it soon became apparent that the urgent part of the delivery would not arrive in time. We realised that this might affect the customer's manufacturing schedule, and we recognised that they were depending on us. Within just a few minutes Dean from our workshop was on his way (a two hundred mile round trip), in the managing director's car, with more of the urgent item in the boot. The customer, of course, was delighted – production continued uninterrupted. (The rest of the shipment arrived later that day too).

Net cost to customer? Not a penny more. Net gain to Becktech? The satisfaction of delivering against our promise.
